At Locust Valley, we affirm the statement of St. Paul in his letter to the Galatians, that "the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." Community outreach ministry is a core component of our church family, and we strive every year to serve the needs of our local area through a variety of projects.
Our outreach projects typically include collections of non-perishable food for our local food banks, assembly school supplies to help under-privileged children as they prepare to go back to school each year, and contributing financially to Beyond Shelter (formerly the Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs) which operates our local cold weather shelters, provides food and medical care to unhoused people, and assists low-income families with utilities and other household expenses in order to keep them from becoming unhoused.
